The course builds applied capability in policy analysis, advocacy and systems thinking, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based, inclusive and rights-focused approaches. Developed through the expertise of UC’s Faculty of Business, Government and Law and the Discipline of Disability and Community Health, this course combines disability sector knowledge with contemporary policy, advocacy and governance perspectives. This interdisciplinary approach helps professionals strengthen their ability to analyse policy, influence decision-making and contribute to positive change across the disability sector.

What you will study
This course is structured around four core units designed to build practical capability in disability policy, advocacy, and systems thinking. Each unit is delivered over 7 weeks, with a recommended weekly study commitment of 15 to 20 hours. The structure is designed to support flexible, part-time study for working professionals.

Entry requirements
- Recognised bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or
- 3 years of relevant professional work experience.
Relevant professional experience may include roles across disability services, government, community organisations, advocacy groups, policy, social services, healthcare, education or other sectors where you have contributed to supporting people, communities, programs or services.
